The Hope of Trusting God

The Hope of Trusting God

Lesson One: Wait, this isn’t what I wanted.

Isaiah 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.

Psalm 119:130, The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.

Lesson Two: But you don’t know my pain.

John 12:24, I tell you for certain that a grain of wheat that falls on the ground will never be more than one grain unless it dies. But if it dies, it will produce lots of wheat.

2 Corinthians 1:8-9, We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.

Lesson Three: Will it be worth it?

Ephesians 1:9-10, With all wisdom and understanding, He made known to us the mystery of His will according to his good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

Hebrews 10:30, For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.”

Lesson Four: What if I’ve already messed it up?

Psalm 103:10-12, He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him.

Hebrews 11:39-40, These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

Lesson Five: God. Is. Good.
