Plow Burning Faith

BOLD: UNLEASH YOUR FAITH          WEEK 1: PLOW BURNING FAITH             STUDY GUIDE

Key Scripture: 1 Kings 19:19-21

Key Principles:

  1. You don’t have to understand fully to obey completely.
  2. Those God uses the most are the ones that hold on to the least.
  3. To step towards your calling, you have to be willing to step away from what you’re holding.

Discussion Questions:

• Describe a time when you obeyed God even though you didn’t fully understand his direction. What resulted from your obedience?

• What security do you need to step away from that will allow you to step toward your destiny?

• What is God asking you to do that you need to obey immediately?

Read 1 Kings 19:19-21.

• What examples of a bold commitment to God have you witnessed in your life?

• How would you describe your level of trust in God? What might be keeping you from fully trusting in him?

• How do you know when God is leading you?

• Brian said, “Those God uses the most are the ones who hold on to the least.” Have you experienced this in your own life? If so, how?

Next Steps: Commit to living out your faith this week.

• God, we want to live a life of bold commitment to you. Help us to live in a posture of spiritual readiness, fully trusting that we don’t need to understand fully before we obey completely. Give us the strength to step away from our security, that we might experience all that you have for us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
