Key Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 5:17-20
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
Lesson One: We are ambassadors from heaven
• We are from a heavenly nation, sent to earth by God, for the ministry of reconciliation
2 Corinthians 19-20, And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.
OUR MISSION AS AMBASSADORS
Lesson Two: You were not elected by people, but chosen and appointed by God.
• We have a divine mission to represent heaven on the earth
John 15:16, You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last.
Lesson Three: You are not just a regular person, you are a royal priest of God.
•Our identity is not found in ourselves, in a political party , or candidate; our identity is found in Christ
1 Peter 2:9, But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
Lesson Four: You never represent yourself; you always represent Christ.
• We are not here for ourselves, we are here to help people find freedom in Christ
1 Peter 2:12, Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
