Key Scriptures: Hebrews 10:19-25

Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Lesson One: The Content and Scope of the Gospel.
• Jesus lived, died, and rose again so that I could enter into the presence of God

Hebrews 10:19-23, Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Lesson Two: We are called to consider one another.
• Our relationship with Jesus impacts our relationships with others

Hebrews 10:24, Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds

Lesson Three: We are called to spur one another.
• Provoke, stir up, sharpen…
• We cannot stir or be stirred in isolation

Hebrews 10:24, Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds

Proverbs 27:17, As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Lesson Four: Your presence and participation are mandatory.
• God’s expectation is that we would be included in the community of believers
• We each bring our own (individual) offering to worship him (corporately)

Hebrews 10:25, Let us not give up on meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
