Key Scriptures: Psalm 90:12
Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Lesson One: On this trip around the sun, nothing is ordinary.
• We are created by and extraordinary God and invited into an extraordinary life with him
Psalm 33:6-9, By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses. Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
Lesson Two: On this trip around the sun, we have a massive opportunity.
• We have the opportunity to seek God and discover how he wants to shape us in Christlikeness this year.
Isaiah 55:6-7, Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
Lesson Three: On this trip around the sun, one thing is essential.
• Wisdom is the essential component of a successful journey around the sun
• WISDOM—the fear of God and the ability to make decisions that glorify and honor him
Psalm 90:12, Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Proverbs 9:10, The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For through wisdom your days will be many, and years will be added to your life. If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.
