Being a Friend
Key Scriptures: Proverbs 17:17
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.
Lesson One: Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.
• The right friends will set us up for success while the wrong friends will cause problems and pain
Proverbs 13:20, Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm
Lesson Two: Be present.
• We need to develop our friendships face-to-face and not via social media
Hebrews 10:24-25, Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
Lesson Three: Open up.
• We may impress people with our strengths but we connect with them through our weaknesses
James 5:16, Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
