Kingdom Placemakers
Key Scriptures: Acts 2:42-47
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Lesson One: God is a placemaker.
• God created a place and invited humanity to walk with him in that place
• Jesus changed places so that humanity could move from ‘outer darkness’ to ‘utter paradise’
Genesis 1:1, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 2:8, Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.
John 14:1-4, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Lesson Two: The Church is a placemaking operation.
• The Holy Spirit moves us from being consumers to being creators
• It’s not enough to prepare the place, we must extend the invitation
Acts 2:1-4, When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.
