A New and Glorious Morn

Key Scriptures: Lamentations 3:21-25

Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

 

Lesson One: A new day with Christ brings exactly what you need.
• We need the presence of God everyday—his reality, his strength, his power, his goodness.

Lamentations 3:24, I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”

Exodus 16:4, Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.

 

Lesson Two: A new day with Christ brings the hope to keep going.
• Jesus gives us hope that there is a new morning coming in the middle of the chaos of the night.

Lamentations 3:25, The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.

Hebrews 10:23, Let us hold unswervingly to the hope in God that we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

• It’s amazing the difference that one day with Christ can make

Lamentations 3:26, It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

Romans 13:11-12, The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here.
